New Technologies for Film Makers - Canon T2i (EOS 550D) a great littel video camera!
Over the past several months I have been diving into the depths of cinematography and HD video. Throughout my research I found some very exciting new technologies for film makers that I felt needed a mention. Over the past year it seems to have been a great marketing concept for Canon to dive into the video world with DSLR's, first with the 5DMarkII, then the 7D and now the T2i (EOS 550D).

After spending hours of research and looking over hours of video samples created with the handful of DSLR's on the market I came to the conclusion that the Canon T2i is most likely the best on the market. I am most impressed with the video features on the T2i over the other two Canons especially when it come to price but also when it comes to the LCD screen dimension and sizing of the T2i. However I would like to see Canon add an articulating screen like Canon did with the G11. So if you are not in need of a new DSLR with a more professional body for still photos, I would say the T2i takes the cake for $800. The T2i gets the same video image quality results in HD video (full 1080p 24fps/30fps) and has a better screen size for shooting video and is lighter weight. Hmmm let me see which one would I pick...

However my conclusion so far is that shooting HD video on a DSLR is no replacement for your traditional HD video cameras but rather an added tool that will allow for some very cool cheep DOF (Dept of Field) imagery to be captured. The Canon T2i (EOS 550D) would be a great full HD video addition to a video makers tool box, however I may wait for the articulating screen to come out on the next release.

10 page pictorial In Hustler Magazine Special Edition
In some other great news, I found out last week that Hustler magazine published a ten page pictorial I shot last year of the beautiful Ruby Day. The magazine actual hit news stands in November 2008, but it is a special edition so it is still out on news stands or you can order it directly from hustlermagazine.com I just got my issue a few days ago from the editor of Hustler and I must say it really looks great!. It is a ten page spread with a total of thirteen photos and my girl got her a head shot on the cover, she's the redheaded one. This was great news for both of us, if you have not checked Ruby Day out in Hustler yet you should and you should definitely check out her site at RubysDiary.com
